The story is about a couple who moves into a new flat which was inhabited by a spirit. Some strange issues that cannot be described happen with his wife, which drives her crazy and wild. Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz was inspired by the Michelle Pfeiffer starred What Couches Beneath. Though Vikram narrated it in his personal way Raaz had enough scary times to keep the audiences on the beach. Raaz starred Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea in the lead roles and consequently went on to become permission with sequels to follow.
Ram Gopal Verma’s Raat was a paranormal thriller, which operated to scare the public to the core. A rip-off of the Hollywood horror classic Exorcist, Raat too dealt with a young lady, Revathy who happens to be controlled by the spirit of a dead kitten. Though Raat didn’t earn much on release but went on to become a cult horror standard of the ’90s.
